A couple of illustrations done for the recent projects of indie roleplaying publisher Sons of the Singularity, The Sutra of Pale Leaves and The Blessed and the Blasphemous, detective adventures in the Cthulhu mythos. I was asked to create in art deco and pop art styles, withing a fairly strict pre-defined palette. I took cues from Degas, Warhol, one was supposed to be like Munch's The Scream, all the while showing Japanese faceless yokai, shambling or raging undead, or a tower made of people!
My work for the publisher has been going on for a while and without a doubt they ask for my darkest work. Since many adventures are set in World War times, there's a lot of Nazis on the stage, which can make me as a German uncomfortable, but so far we always found a way around it.
